Function
The strip is drawn from the double strip dereeler and feed into the mill. 14
pairs of forming
rolls form the strip into a slotted tube. The slotted tube then enters the
welding box, where
it is welded along the slot by means of an electric are between itself and a
tungsten electrode.
The closed welding box is filled with inert gas, which is also fed to the
interior of the slotted
tube. After welding, the tube is quenched in water and proceeds to 4 pairs of
calibration
rolls.
How to ensure the quality of the
products?
There is a testing points and monitoring equipment.
The line is equipped with EDDY current testing for in - line testing of the tube
to control the
quality of the welding seam. The device can either be used for automatic cut
away of the
faulty part, or automatic selection in good and bad.
For easy setting and overview of the arc, monitoring equipment is attached and
it consistence
of video camera, lens and color monitor. The camera will be mounted on a movable
arm
in order to have easy access to the weld box; the monitor will be placed on a
shelf at eyelevel
for easy overview.
